What’s a TEDx Event Anyways?

  • August 29

If you’re an annual TEDxBoulder fan, you’ve already gotten your ticket for the September 16th event: Rise & Fall. If you’re on the fence, you may be wondering what to expect. Perhaps you’ve heard a TED talk before, but are wondering what a TEDx event really is.

This is our 10th TEDxBoulder mainstage event and we pride ourselves with the quality of the event from ticket purchase to when you exit. Our event is two 90 minute sessions of all live TED style talks from local speakers and musicians. It is inspiring, heartfelt and a damn fun community event.

Here’s what you can expect at TEDxBoulder:

  1. An evening of remarkable speakers who brave revealing their deepest stories on stage.

2. Sharing big ideas that surprise, awe, and educate.

3. A sold-out auditorium.

4. Live music and performance.

5. New friends, perhaps met over a shared meal.

If you’re curious, here’s the official description.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBoulder, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBoulder event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

Tickets for the Fall 2018 Event are on sale now (and first batch of speakers have been announced!).
