This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. There is power in committing. We need to rethink our definition of what it means to fully commit. Catie Webster is an explorer of options, outcomes and opportunities. She has been an acupuncturist, yoga instructor and life coach (among many other intermediate careers), but she always comes back to writing. Her work focuses on lessons learned from her experiences (sometimes mistakes), and she uses her words to inspire others to take chances and chase down what fires them up. From 9-5, she can be found at Mystery Ranch–a small backpack company doing big things in Bozeman, Montana–where she manages PR and content strategy. When she's not in front of a computer, she's probably in the river, on the trail or off the grid - playing with fish, sleeping outside, getting dirty and making the most of the short Montana summer. Then she skis. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
