John has given thousands of talks in his life. This talk is different. The last time John spoke, the unthinkable happened. Just as he was about to go on stage, John found out his wife had committed suicide following a long battle with Bipolar Disorder. Preparation for this talk had been going well until the day before the event when it hit him. The weight of the tragedy was still there, and he didn’t know if he could speak this time. John agreed for emcee Andrew Hyde to do an interview on stage to honor John's late wife, and sort through how John’s talk about disruption, had itself been disrupted. As the interview began, John found the strength to try again. Andrew slowly backed away to reveal a stripped down talk from John in which he shared with the audience, in raw and poignant form, the experience of being inside the eye of disruption.
