This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Ash talks about having the ability to hold two strong beliefs, simultaneously, while still being true to oneself
Ash Beckham is an accidental advocate. A year ago she was living her life as an event entrepreneur before her 2013 TEDxBoulder talk went viral. She speaks about empathy, respect and the power of having real conversations. With funny and poignant personal stories, and a tough yet deeply compassionate stance, Ash tells us how to take off our armor and be our authentic selves. She believes if we can live in a world of duality rather than polarity we can see that our similarities dwarf our differences.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
