How do communities like those in poverty survive without money? Amanda shares her research about how we all build economies through our relationships and our communication. She reveals the economic choice we all face but rarely acknowledge and asks if your economic life is aligned with your values.
Amanda Szabo has spent the last six years researching how people organize themselves into economies. As a PhD candidate in Communication at University of Colorado Boulder she's seen how social norms, communication, and relationships in different industries, locales, and groups result in unique community-based economies. Plucked from the South (Louisiana, Tennessee, and North Carolina), she now studies, instructs, and coaches Communication in Boulder, CO.
