Beth Hartman has spent the last decade working to support innovation in the energy industry, and looks forward to inspiring other people to help accelerate the transition to a more sustainable global economy in the coming decade.

She is currently Manager for the Office of the CEO at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) supporting a variety of initiatives and events including Climate Week in New York City. Prior to joining RMI Beth was at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for four years leading the Incubatenergy Network (www.incubatenergy.org), a community of over 20 clean energy incubators and accelerators that have collectively supported more than 500 startup companies focused on solutions for transitioning to a more sustainable economy. For almost three years prior to joining EPRI she was a Senior Analyst at E Source where her research focused on electric utility customer engagement and marketing strategies, and before E Source she worked as Marketing Manager at Simple Energy (now merged with Tendril to form Uplight) after the company completed the Techstars Boulder program. Beth has a master’s degree from the University of Colorado and completed a year-long fellowship at the Silicon Flatirons Center in the CU Law School where she managed the CU New Venture Challenge student business plan competition and published reports on topics including smart grid, privacy and entrepreneurship.

Beth is from Boulder and enjoys many of the area’s popular activities such as biking, camping, hiking and skiing. She has two young sons who are also learning to like those activities, and she very much hopes we can all work together to make sure that these children and all children around the world can look forward to a future appreciating those activities and many others on our beautiful planet.
