2012: Edges & Experiences
Hannah Nordhaus is author of the national bestselling book, The Beekeeper’s Lament: How One Man and Half a Billion Honey Bees Help Feed America (HarperCollins 2011), a non-fiction portrait of a fourth-generation beekeeper who travels the West with 10,000 hives, struggling to keep his bees alive in the middle of a strange and sobering die-off. The book was a Colorado Book Awards and PEN Center USA finalist, as well as a National Federation of Press Women Book Award winner. Her writing has appeared in the Financial Times, Los Angeles Times, Outside Magazine, The Village Voice, and many other publications, covering such topics as litigious prostitutes in Montana; snorkeling salmon-counters in Idaho; nuclear workers near Denver; and dildo-art thieves and GPS dog-doo-mappers in Boulder. She was also a columnist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News.
