TEDxBoulder

We had an amazing night on Sunday celebrating the Boulder community and bold dreams, talks, and personalities. Just over 1000 attended an afternoon event with an afternoon showtime. Our 14 speakers ranged from disability rights, cosmos, AI, poetry, accessibility and two show stopping talks on sharks and bogs.

Huge thank you to our speaker coaches Erin Week, Becca Close, Allison O'Brien, and Jeff Donaldson. Without their tireless dedication the event could not take place.

A special thank you to the volunteers at Chautauqua and event staff that made that historic venue shine.

It was a special night for an amazing community.

Some notes for next year that we are not quite sure how to solve:
* Price of the event. We want to aim for a lower pricepoint to make it more accessible.
* Sponsorships. After a rough few years post covid we didn't reach out for sponsorship.
* Community feel online. Even with 1000 tickets sold we saw under 10 posts from our community about the event. We don't know how to jumpstart an online community feel. Open to ideas.
* We need an event producer. Our team has been stretched thin and it is clear the event would benefit from this.
* We need to focus on our marketing and community partnerships.
* We had 1300 applications to speak for 14 slots. The social engineering of speakers is exhausting. Not sure how to combat this.
* We thought the speakers were the right mix of science, heart, soul, nerdy fun, and a voice for the future.

We are super excited about how the event turned out. Thanks for attending and supporting.

See you next year!
